Why our Meat is Special
Did you know that not all pork looks the same? We are all used to seeing pale pink pork, but the best tasting pork in the world is red and marbled, similar to beef. This comes from raising heritage breeds, raising them on pasture and ensuring they have access to high-quality supplemental feed. Our chickens are larger, more succulent and have more flavour then you might have known was possible in a chicken.
Golden Locals Deserve Better
We all know Golden's grocery stores offer mediocre meat at unfair pricing. We started our farm in 2024 specifically to raise the highest-quality, pasture-raised, heritage pork and poultry to provide Golden with a better alternative. That's why we are excited to offer fair-pricing to all and discounts for Golden and area locals.
A Community-Focused Farm
We aren't just looking to raise the highest-quality local meat, we are looking to improve our local food system. Working with local farmers and organizations like Local Food Matters we are working collaboratively to build a better, more equitable and higher-quality food system for Golden and area. We are working on building out shared food processing and storage, plan on a farmer incubator program and "farm days" open to the community in future years. We're just getting started though, so give us some time to get the basics done first!
